In order to choose the plate that best suits our needs, it is useful to understand the 3 types of worktops we can choose from:

  • Vitroceramic: they are the most standardized plates, due to their easy cleaning. You can choose between radiant plate glass-ceramics or Hi-light. The difference between them, among others, is the speed and efficiency of the caloric force, being more efficient the Hi-light.
  • Induction: it is a more advanced model of glass-ceramic, since the system allows that the container that we use to cook is heated directly, not the plate, with which they are much faster and more efficient than the conventional glass-ceramic. In addition, some models detect the size of the base of the container, so that heat is not wasted outside the working area. It is necessary to bear in mind that it is not possible to cook in these vitroceramics with any type of kitchen battery, but the specific ones for the induction.
  • Gas: for those who are used to cooking with gas cookers, you can find many models that combine the base of the glass-ceramic glass with the gas cookers, optimizing to the maximum the work of cooking.

An advice: take advantage of the residual heat in the glass-ceramics. It turns off the area a few minutes before removing the container, and the residual heat will continue working. You will save this way in your light bill.
